ABOUT US
More than twenty years ago, Sara founded Mind Over Math. She had just moved to Wilmington and was newly married, with a yowling cat named Mocha and a 1987 Volvo. Sara settled into her new coastal life and soon met her first student. Kaylee was a 7th grader with a passion for learning and eventually became the self-proclaimed “math-goddess of 7th grade”.
After Kaylee came Olivia, Tori and numerous others. Mind Over Math’s original students have graduated and gone off to college and now Sara and her team are tutoring their younger siblings, neighbors and friends. All of our students are dear to us. In fact, it is not unusual to hear us referring to the students we tutor as “our kids”. Since the summer of 2003, the Mind Over Math team has spent over 125,000 hours tutoring for math, science, SAT/ACT prep, teaching study skills and providing academic support services. These programs have helped students to gain admission to selective colleges and universities including Harvard, Princeton, Brown and Duke University. |

My daughter has learned so much from Maggie! Over the years I have had many tutors for my daughter but Maggie by far exceeds my expectations. She just relates to Maggie's style of tutoring! I appreciate Mind Over Math and Maggie so much for working with our schedule! It has been a great learning experience for my daughter! She has made so much progress in Algebra 2 and Chemistry! As of now she has a 96.365 in Algebra 2 and a 90.5 in Chemistry! I am in hopes that she can get the Chemistry up to a 93 before the end of the year! Again, thank you all for your hard work! |
